Documenting Half-Siblings and Blended Families Accurately
Why 19th-century genealogical grids fail and how graph representations properly preserve complex family bonds.
Historical family tree charts often forced families into narrow nuclear moulds, hiding blended households, remarriages, and single-parent lineages. Normalized graphs resolve this: by decoupling individuals from fixed couple nodes, half-siblings sharing only one parent are naturally linked without artificial unions or lost ancestry.
